Case Study
American Airlines: Reducing Average Turn Time
American Airlines has a Landing Gear Shop at their MRO in Tulsa, OK. They needed to lower their average turn time when refurbishing landing gear from 89 to less than 60 days to avoid grounding aircraft or outsourcing their work. I helped them reach 56 days with no additional manpower and no increase in overtime. Safety improved dramatically from 12 recordable to 6. No aircraft were grounded and no work was outsourced. Budgeted performance improved from a baseline of 65% to 95%.
